My Story

17 Years Contracting, 5 years (as a permanent employee with General Motors), plus add to that 3 years of University BA Degree (in IT), plus add to that 1 year part time certificate course (in IT) and you should get 27 years of solid background and picture of my ACTIVITY in IT up till august 2000.

So I know what the rush (from the pressure) on leading high profile high stakes projects that must meet their deadline (or else) feels like...

I know
what its like to have awkward uncomfortable sensations run through my body as the contract expiry date comes due...

I know the quiet insecure uncertain anticipation you feel when your finger presses the elevator button... to the floor of your interview.... wondering how you will face the panel.. (the UNKNOWN)... this time... Will they like you.. will you crash and burn.. be way out of your depth this time? (moving eyebrows up and down rapidly with a twinkling smile).

I love the unknown that rages through my chest and body... BECAUSE it lets me know I am still alive...

HOWEVER I have since learned how much I was losing

by failing to remind colleagues, project leaders, project managers, of my value... of failing to gather around me a power network of influence... of failing to move quicker on my resume of the future... of failing to learn to market myself properly personally... and more.

ALL the things my UNIVERSITY degree did NOT cover that TURNS OUT what it SHOULD have covered MOST... to make my way stronger.. to get me there faster and to lift me higher than I reached.
