Well I'm glad you asked. I'll reveal all in a second. but FIRST.
Our JOB/CAREER is NOT our ONLY reason for being. Perhaps the biggest is to be kind to our kids by being the parent we would be proud of.
I'm a guy so I'll talk about it from a guys point of view... Gals.. you will have to figure out what that means from a gal's point of view.
BUT.. its not easy being green said the frog... AND life wasn't meant to be easy.. said M Frazer... our Prime Minister of the millennium just breached. No he wasn't a frog... He was a liberal. (hmmm... still is actually)
FACT is its NOT easy to be the kind of role model our kids need.... to make THEIR way in this world... because it is NOT always about us... because our experiences are not always relevant to the newer generations.
STILL
its important we find a way to do the best we can. but I am a little cautious pushing them into personal development.
(I take the word 'personal' seriously)
ONE thing I noticed was that my son watched us (my wife and I) like a hawk...
I DIDN'T want him him to be a little angel.. NOR did I want him to be a dill...
So the best that I could do was to try and be a best example...
Somewhere between "not-an-angel'... and NOT a 'dill'
NOW THE CROPPED PHOTO REVEAL (that a number have asked me about)
Yes I know I know... I KNOW I should get a PROFESSIONAL photo done, airbrushed, blemishes removed, skin tone adjusted, and the yellow tie is perhaps a little old now. I'm sure this is good advice but my intention is not to pose to anyone.
My intention is to give a truer picture.
Just like I encourage people I coach to drop their fluff and get to what is really going on.
He is now about to reach the ripe old age of his mid twenties
I try not to pry... BUT I know one thing... He is NO dill
AND STILL he watches us like a hawk.
If I didn't do good.. at least I captivated his attention.
